Software product thinking
Software design.
Built around your business.
From a clear, useful website to a connected software platform. Product thinking, UX/UI and hands-on engineering—from the first idea to life after launch.
How we work
From the first conversation to a working product.- 01
Understand the business.
Start with the people, the problem and what a useful first release needs to achieve.
- 02
Design the experience.
Map the journeys and agree a visual direction, scope, estimate and milestones.
- 03
Engineer the connections.
Build the interface and connect the content, data, APIs and existing systems it needs.
- 04
Test, launch & hand over.
Review a working preview, test the key journeys and agree access, editing and support.
01 / Websites, product design & UX/UI
Make the next
step easier.
Design starts with the people using it. We map journeys, simplify navigation and build a consistent visual system—from a public website to a complex software interface.
New websites, thoughtful refreshes and UX/UI for products that need to be clearer and easier to use.

Business goals, user journeys, wireframes and an agreed visual direction. Reusable components and responsive layouts connect the design to the working software.
Useful journeys
Clear calls, directions, enquiries, product browsing or connections to existing booking tools. Commerce and integrations are scoped to the actual workflow.
Search & launch foundations
Useful page titles, metadata, sitemap and indexing checks. Preserve useful content and URLs, map agreed redirects, and test key links and forms.
Control after launch
Configured content and product editing, a walkthrough and an agreed handover. Use the platform you already know when it remains the better fit.
Your proposal records the pages, migration, review rounds and acceptance checks. No automatic full-library rewrite, ranking guarantee or custom booking engine.
Can you keep your existing platform?
Yes. We can improve Shopify, Webflow, Squarespace, WordPress or Wix within the platform’s capabilities—or recommend a custom build where it makes sense.
We check plan limits, editing, checkout and integrations before quoting. Provider subscriptions and paid apps are separate.
02 / Your editing workspace
Your site.
A clear place to manage it.
Everyday edits in your hands. Design and development requests with SSX.
The day-to-day.
Edit text, images, hours and products in your configured editor. Preview, then publish.
The bigger changes.
Request design, features or code changes. Approve the cost and preview before release.

Everything in view.
Make an update, follow a request or find the information you need.
Work & updatesView activity
Your content stays in your hands. Technical work stays visible, with scope and approval agreed before release.
Design & code
Your next change.
A clear way forward.
Describe it, attach a screenshot and tell us when you need it. We confirm the scope, then share a preview before release.

Content & publishing
Small updates.
On your terms.
No code required. Edit the fields configured for your site, check the result and publish when you’re happy.

Your project.
Not a black box.
The scope, decisions and handover details belong with the work. Know what is included, which accounts are yours and how to get support.

Providers, account owners, service allowances and costs.

Your configured content fields, access and publishing steps.
Estimates & approvals
The agreed work, included allowance and any approved extras.
03 / Care & running costs
Only the infrastructure
you actually need.
A brochure website does not need the same infrastructure as a software platform. We keep the stack lean and show the costs before you commit.
- Simple managed website
- From NZ$49 / month
- Custom software platform
- Estimated to your usage
Standard hosting, configured staff editing and routine technical checks. Build price is separate.
Accounts, databases, storage and paid APIs are itemised around the actual system.
Website guide: 2 editors, 100 form requests and 50 publishes per month. Domain, email, commerce, specialist software and work beyond your agreed change allowance are separate. Final total, tax treatment and inclusions confirmed in your quote.
Can you work with our existing website?
Yes. We can improve an existing site, build on an established commerce platform, or develop a custom application. We review what already works before recommending a rebuild.
What will we pay after launch?
Your quote separates the build, monthly service, domain/email and any paid tools. A lightweight static frontend can use free-tier hosting within provider limits; that is not a free managed service. Forms, editing, maintenance and backend usage still need a budget.
Static hosting referenceWho owns the accounts?
Your domain and content stay yours. With managed hosting, SSX operates the agreed service and invoices you once. Alternatively, pay providers directly and agree support separately. We record account ownership, the agreed project deliverables and the transfer route in writing.
What happens from brief to launch?
A short conversation, a written scope, design review, a working build and agreed testing. You approve the release. We provide the agreed access and editing guidance, with optional care and future changes separately defined.
How we workWhat does ongoing care include?
Your plan records hosting, routine checks, staff editing and any SSX-led change allowance. Use your editor for everyday content and the request workflow for design or code work. Changes within the agreed allowance are included; work beyond it is approved first. No surprise charges.
04 / Software engineering & platforms
The whole system.
Not just the screen.
We design and develop the interface, backend, data model and connections around it. Customer portals, operational tools and multi-role platforms with a clear product purpose.
APIs, databases, permissions, automation and algorithms—connected to the way your business actually works.
See the platform workProduct & architecture
Translate the operating problem into user journeys, a data model and an architecture. Define the first useful release and the systems it must work with.
Frontend, backend & integration
Build the application, APIs and database together. Connect external services, background processes, role-based access and business rules.
Evidence in our own work
Cryvector: vehicle reconstruction, terrain and road-weather intelligence across web and native iOS. WashScope: property records, inspection capture, service workflows and multiple user roles.
Delivery beyond the demo
Staged implementation, working previews and agreed tests. Permissions, failure handling, data ownership and operating costs are part of the scope.
05 / Native iPhone applications
Built for the
way it is used.
Swift interfaces connected to the capabilities of the device: camera capture, location, LiDAR and spatial workflows, with the backend needed to make the app useful.
Drawing on native capture and field workflows in Cryvector and WashScope. We also check when a simpler responsive web app is the better choice.
A clear product scope
Define the users, essential journeys, device requirements and first release before committing to a larger build.
Interface & connected software
Swift development, camera and location workflows, ARKit/LiDAR where supported, API connections and account flows. Backend work is scoped alongside the app.
Testing & release planning
Agree supported devices, test access, acceptance checks and the distribution route. Account ownership, ongoing updates and support are explicit.
Native apps use paid discovery and staged estimates. App Store approval, third-party services and future operating-system changes are not guaranteed by a prototype.
